Booking & Logistics
How far in advance should we book our family session?
I recommend booking 4 to 6 weeks in advance, especially for weekend slots. If you want a fall session in the colorful Colorado foliage, please reach out by July or August, as those dates fill up fast!
What is your payment and cancellation policy?
A non-refundable deposit and a signed contract are required to officially lock in your date. The remaining balance is due the day of the shoot.
What happens if the Colorado weather doesn't cooperate?
Northern Colorado weather changes fast! If it is freezing, pouring rain, or dangerously windy, we will make the call to reschedule. I always keep backup dates available in my calendar for weather emergencies.
Locations & Timing
Where will our session take place? Can you help us choose a spot?
Absolutely! In my blog, there is an article I wrote about locations for family photos in Northern Colorado. It features beautiful local spots ranging from the rugged foothills of Fort Collins and Loveland to open grassy fields, riverside paths, and urban backdrops.
What time of day do sessions take place?
Outdoor lifestyle sessions take place during the "golden hour"—the hour just before sunset or right after sunrise. This is when the mountain light is soft, warm, and most flattering for your family.
Do you travel outside of your main service area?
Yes! My standard package covers travel within the Northern Colorado area (including Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, and Greeley). If you want to shoot deeper in the mountains, like Estes Park or Rocky Mountain National Park, just let me know and we can discuss a travel fee and permit requirements.
Preparation & Wardrobe
What should my family wear? Do you offer styling advice?
Don't stress—I'm here to help! Neutral, earthy, and organic tones (like cream, rust, sage, mustard, and soft blues) look beautiful against our local landscapes. There is an article in my blog that acts as a styling guide to help you choose the perfect wardrobe!
What if my kids won't sit still or smile for the camera?
Please don't worry about perfect behavior! My lifestyle approach is all about capturing your family's natural dynamic. We will play games, run around, and focus on genuine interactions rather than stiff, forced posing. Some of the best photos happen when kids are just being themselves.
Image Delivery & Rights
When and how will we receive our edited photos?
You will receive a link to your private, online digital gallery within 2 to 3 weeks of your session date.
Can we download and print our images?
Yes! Every gallery includes high-resolution digital downloads and a personal print release. You can download your images to any device, share them with family, and print them at your favorite photo lab.
Do you edit all of the photos we receive?
Yes, every image delivered in your final gallery is hand-edited for color, brightness, contrast, and tone to match my signature style. I focus on keeping things looking natural, though I do include basic blemish removal.
