Your Session is Booked!

Let me take this opportunity to thank you for putting your trust in me. It is my goal to capture the essence of your beautiful, unique family in a way that you can treasure for years to come. The beauty of lifestyle photography is not having statuesque and overly posed, everyone smiling and looking at the camera, standard photographs. We get to get in close, look at each other, and immortalize the connection between your family members. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for your session with me.

Location: We can choose the best location for your photos together. I have locations that I love shooting in, but I am always open to new suggestions. It is important to choose a location that fits your family’s personality. Click here for a guide on choosing the location that is right for you.

Time: One to two hours before sunset is a magical time for sunlight. If you have young children, sometimes some downtime before the session can help us take advantage of this gorgeous light.

Length: Your family will be happy to know that my photo sessions are not long at all. About 45 minutes is all it will take me to capture an array of interesting, memorable photos.

What to Wear: Your clothing choice should be comfortable. Think coordinating, not necessarily matching. It should reflect your family’s style. Click here for a blog post I wrote to help you choose your wardrobe for your family session.

Your Children: Most children don’t like being posed or told to smile. It’s more beneficial to the session if we allow them to be themselves, and capture that. Don’t let it bother you if your child is running around and playing. We will get better results from them if we are not constantly barking orders at them. Most of the amazing photos I’ve taken of children happen when they are playing. I will direct you, so you don’t have to worry about them. It is best if they have had rest, and adequate snacks.
